In 1993, Kate Farinholt joined NAMI Baltimore. National NAMI recognized her in 2004 for “integration of consumers of mental health services at all levels, advocacy and education on criminal justice, focus on diversity and regional impact.” Kate co-developed many programs including NAMI’s peer support group model and training and NAMI In Our Own Voice. In 2011 Kate became NAMI Maryland Executive Director. Kate has been nationally recognized for her work on criminal justice, consumer and family peer programming, veterans and military, and empowerment and engagement of individuals and their families in program design and implementation.
