Kate O’Neill, Ph.D.

Neuroscientist
University of Maryland

Kate is a neuroscientist with 14 years of research experience. Her research has focused on understanding the intricate link between structure and function in brain cells. Kate currently works as an Assistant Research Scientist at UMD, managing the Neural Dynamics Platform project (PIs: Losert, Karna) that is part of the larger UMD-ARL DataDrivER Cooperative Agreement. While her neuroscience research has remained in the basic science realm, Kate is motivated by how the complexity of brain function contributes to mental health challenges and diseases/disorders of the brain.
