Kathryn McDonald (she/her), BS, is a graduate student in the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s Master of Public Health program and Research Coordinator in the Department of Psychiatry. Recently, she served as the first author of a forthcoming book chapter discussing environmental considerations for children and adolescents undergoing inpatient psychiatric care. This year, Ms. McDonald won a departmental award recognizing academic excellence related to the mental health impacts of environmental injustice. She was selected by the Delta Omega Honorary Society to present research findings regarding food insecurity at the American Public Health Association’s annual conference in October.
