Emely is majoring in journalism and pursuing minors in history and French. She is currently a content writing intern at xFoundry. Emely speaks English and Spanish fluently and can converse in French.

Her journalism experience includes internships and freelance reporting with local publications like the College Park Here and Now and the Hyattsville Life and Times. Emely contributes to several student-run publications as a writer for The Diamondback, as the copy chief for Stories Beneath the Shell and as a copy editor and freelance writer for La Voz Latina. Additionally, she serves as the vice president of the University of Maryland’s chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, where she works to assist journalism students at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism and connect them with professionals.

Outside of school and work, Emely enjoys playing board games with friends and family, as well as traveling. This summer, she had the opportunity to study abroad in Southern France for three weeks, where she attended French-language classes in the morning and went on cultural excursions.
