The Mosaic Garden Canopy is a multifunctional and self-sustaining armature that supports plant growth, collects water, and produces energy and shade.

The white hexagonal mosaic of the canopy mirrors the aesthetics of the E.A. Fernandez IDEA Factory and provides much-needed shade at the Ortanez Family Garden Terrace.

The design incorporates sustainable, UMD-developed green technology and champions the values of xFoundry@UMD by proudly displaying and highlighting multidisciplinary technology and art.
