Tenants will occupy the IDEA Central Café in the E. A. Fernandez IDEA Factory. In doing so, tenants can experiment with business models, learn from our accelerator programs and share their commitment to the food tech industry.
The benefits
Staff support and location
Dining Services employees can cook and serve recipes. Retail space will also be available for food cooked off-site. Startups will need ghost kitchen expertise for recipes, including off-site preparation.
Fully digital space
The space features self-ordering kiosks, app-based ordering, QR codes, text message marketing and ticket screens in the kitchen. xFoundry will share all data with the startup.
Market growth
IP has the opportunity to grow, as campus customers are potential clients for startup technology. The startup can market its food and tech products directly to them.
Built-in fundraising network
Like any traditional accelerator, xFoundry will provide access to its extensive network of entrepreneurs and venture capitalists with which the startup can connect.
Expansion opportunities
As we develop our space and show success, the startup might be able to expand within our broader campus community, opening even more business to our over 30,000 students.
No upfront equity required
We only ask that if our service makes the difference between failure and success for the startup's brand, the startup pledges to donate a small percentage of their company back to our program as a thank you. This will help ensure we can continue offering our services to other startups.
